This notice of suspension is a general type of notice, without remuneration, to be used by employers only when they wish to temporarily suspend an employee after the latter has engaged in one or more inappropriate or reprehensible behaviors at work, behaviors that may have negative consequences on thecompany's image and the well-being of other employees.
Depending on the situation, and using the options provided in our questionnaire, this notice may deal with the explanations requested of the employee in relation to the situation or the behavior complained of, the employee'sattitude towards the behavior complained of, thehelp offered to the employee to remedy the situation, and a brief summary of the situation to date.
The imposition of a temporary suspension on an employee must be justified by serious reasons, as it is a disciplinary measure.
A copy of this notice and proof of its receipt by the employee must be carefully kept by the employer in the employee's file, in order to provide the necessary evidence in the event of an action by the employee or a complaint or contestation before the CNESST.
